Use the Financial Support and Essential Needs Form to tell us about financial needs and assistance services.

New Criteria for Requesting Rent and Utility Assistance

Effective June 1, 2025, you must attach the following supporting documentation. The bill must be in the name of the grandparent requesting assistance and must include a disconnection notice or a past-due notice. You must also provide proof that you have custody of your grandchildren. For example, this can include a lease with both your name and theirs, custodial paperwork, or a school enrollment form.

As of July 1, 2025, we will no longer cover telephone bills. Additionally, we will not provide cash assistance for gasoline. However, we will consider transportation costs such as past-due car payments and repairs.

Due to the high demand for assistance, we can provide support up to three times within a calendar year. If we do not hear from you within 7 days of contact, your application will be denied, and you will need to wait 90 days before reapplying.

If you are terminally ill or chronically ill, your application will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
